A new month is on the horizon, and that means more free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers! Microsoft has officially announced the lineup for September’s Games With Gold, and the selections are interesting, to say the least. Nothing too spectacular here (especially in comparison to PS Plus’ free games for September), but there should be a little something for everyone. Headlining next month’s offerings are Prison Architect and Livelock.

Prison Architect is pretty much exactly what it sounds like; a simulation game that allows players to build and run their own prison. Developed by Introversion Software, Prison Architect has been met with generally positive reviews, so fans of the genre should be in for a treat. This one will be available for free on Xbox One starting September 1 throughout the entire month.

Next up, Livelock, by Perfect World Entertainment, is a top-down co-op shooter. Reviews are pretty favorable, so if you’re a fan of this type of game, you’re sure to enjoy it. Livelock will be available for Xbox Live Gold subscribers from September 16 through October 15.

As always, there are two Xbox 360 games available for Gold members next month as well. First up, we have LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, a must have for fans of the LEGO games or fans of Star Wars. These games are always fun for the entire family, and anything Star Wars will always get me excited, personally. LEGO Star Wars III will be available from September 1 through 15. Finally, Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World is coming for free as well. Originally released for the 360 back in 2012, this collection contains three games: Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and Monster World IV, and will be available to download for free from September 16 through 30. Remember, all Xbox 360 games that come to Games With Gold are automatically available to play on Xbox One via backwards compatibility.
